Leesa describes itself as a pioneer of the bed-in-the-box mattress category, founded in 2015 with a stated mission of “making better sleep for a better world.” Leesa states its foam is now made in-house (as of 2024), and the company sells mattresses, adjustable bases, pillows, bedding, and mattress protectors, with products available through retail partners including West Elm and Pottery Barn as well as direct sales. Leesa also states it has donated more than 17,000 mattresses to nonprofits, including through a partnership with the Bowery Mission, and joined the 3Z family of sleep brands in 2023. The Leesa Natural Crib Mattress is the brand’s entry into crib bedding: a dual-sided, five-layer design built on American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines, with a firm side for infants and a gentle-firm side for toddlers ages 1 to 3, according to Leesa.

Origin Mattress™ is a direct-to-consumer hybrid mattress brand designed for the US market, sold through originmattress.com and warehouse/showroom locations in states including Tennessee and Texas. The company positions itself against what it calls “overpriced mattress brands,” selling factory-direct while working with a team of international sleep experts on its designs. Origin positions the Adapt™ Hybrid Mattress reviewed here as its best-value model, alongside the LumbarCloud™ Hybrid Pro Mattress and matching bed frames, pillows, and bedding. Origin states the Adapt™ Hybrid is made with CertiPUR-US®-certified foams and OEKO-TEX® STANDARD fibers and is fiberglass-free.

PlushBeds is a California-based mattress company that says it handcrafts its products in the USA. Alongside its main latex and hybrid mattress lines, PlushBeds sells the MobilePlush, a 6-inch all-memory-foam mattress purpose-built for RVs, sized to fit RV-specific short-queen and other non-standard RV bed frames rather than only standard home mattress sizes. The MobilePlush is built around what PlushBeds calls Plushfoam, a proprietary memory foam the brand says is nearly three times denser than regular foam, with an open-cell structure intended to channel heat away from the body. The mattress is CertiPUR-US and GreenGuard Gold certified, and PlushBeds says it uses a fiberglass-free Eco Fire Barrier made from natural plant fibers instead of the fiberglass common in many mattress fire barriers.

This US based company offers double-sided memory foam mattresses for all kinds of sleeping positions and preferences.  One side is more firm for those looking for more support, while the other side is more soft for a more relaxing feel.  And if I decide to not decide what I prefer, the Layla mattress will allow me that too!
