Leesa Crib Mattress

The mattress is dual-sided by design: a firm surface on the infant side, which Leesa says follows American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines for sleepers under about 12 months, and a gentle-firm surface on the toddler side for ages 1 to 3 and up, offering slightly more give for a heavier, more mobile sleeper, according to Leesa.

Leesa states the latex layers are ventilated for airflow and naturally hypoallergenic, which the company says helps the mattress resist dust mites and hold its shape over time.

Leesa states the gentle-firm latex on the toddler side offers a little more give than the infant side, cushioning pressure points for a heavier, more mobile sleeper aged 1 to 3 and up.

Leesa builds the Natural Crib Mattress as a five-layer, dual-sided design: a 1.5-inch firm, GOLS-certified organic latex layer for the infant side, a 2-inch CertiPUR-US certified transition support foam layer (52 ILD firmness rating) in the middle, and a 1.5-inch gentle-firm, GOLS-certified organic latex layer for the toddler side, wrapped in a 100% cotton cover. Leesa states the mattress is fiberglass-free and built in the company’s fiberglass-free factory, using a chemical-free rayon fiber fire barrier instead.

The cover is 100% cotton knit, which Leesa states is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, meaning it’s tested for harmful substances. Leesa notes the cover is non-removable and should only be spot-cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap, not machine washed.

Leesa states the mattress is made to order, at a facility in Arizona per the company’s site, and ships free. Leesa backs the purchase with a 120-night home trial, including an initial 30-night break-in period, with a full refund on returns during the trial; Leesa notes that shipping fees for returns from Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada are non-refundable.
