Overview
Solaire is a new mattress brand owned by Saatva – a US-based, market-leading, luxury mattress manufacturer. Solaire mattress represents an air bed with 50 degrees of adjustable firmness. The unique construction design allows users to inflate or deflate the air chambers inside the mattress with the help of remote controllers to find the perfect level of comfort and firmness that suits them individually. The product is most suitable for people with aches, arthritis, and body tension.
Construction
Solaire mattress consists of six performance layers, each engineered with a specific purpose.
Organic Cotton Pillow Top
The top layer is the cover which is made with 100% Lofton Organic Cotton. There is also a bit of memory foam mixed in with the cotton which provides immediate comfort and relaxation once you lay on the bed.
5-Zone Natural Talalay Latex
The 5-Zone Latex layer consists of five separate support pieces that are brought together to form the lumbar support and comfort layer. Talalay latex is light, soft to the touch and highly breathable, and naturally hypoallergenic. This layer is responsible for pressure point relief. Also, Talalay latex is very responsive, which helps endorse sex life for couples.
Gel-infused Memory Foam
The thick memory foam layer provides spinal support and a low response to pressure, which results in deep body-contouring and moderate sinkage. Acting as an additional comfort layer and temperature coolant, the memory foam can be placed atop or below the 5-Zone Talalay Latex, depending on your preferences.
Moisture Barrier Layers
The Moisture Barrier Layers are a combination of layers that protect the interims of the mattress from harmful bacteria and dramatically improve the longevity of the bed.
Vulcanized Air Chambers
The main support layer of Solaire mattresses, multi-directional baffle designed air chambers, evenly support the sleepers’ bodies from edge to edge and head to toe. Queen, King, and Call King-sized beds feature two connected, yet separately controlled air chambers, allowing couples to adjust the firmness levels individually.
Power Edge Enclosure
The base of the mattress is represented by a high-density polyfoam edge support, providing a strong foundation for the whole bed. The air inflator that adjusts the bed is also located here, but thanks to its careful placement and base construction design, it operates invisibly and without making too much noise, hiding all the pumps and hoses inside the bed.
Solaire mattress is built using high-quality and recyclable materials. The cover is made from organic cotton, and the Talalay latex is 100% natural. On top of that, the product is CertiPUR-US certified, meaning that it’s free from harmful chemicals and flame retardants.
Mattress Cover
The cover is made of 100% organic cotton and there is also some memory foam quilted into the cotton to provide some immediate comfort once you lay on the bed. The material feels soft and cozy to the touch. The cover is washable and removable.
Firmness, Feel & Support
Overall, the mattress is very comfortable and suits all types of sleepers and sleeping positions, be it side, back, or stomach. The 50 levels of adjustable firmness make it possible to reach any level of softness or hardness on a scale of one to ten. The mattress provides a moderate amount of sinkage and deep body contouring, creating a feeling of sleeping “inside” a bed rather than “on” a bed.
The responsiveness of Solaire is pretty good for an air bed, which makes it a good choice for couples who have back and neck pain and require pressure point relief, but also do not want to compromise their sex life. The support is evenly distributed from top to bottom and edge to edge, giving the sleeper an ideal feeling of comfort regardless of weight. Finally, thanks to the adjustable firmness, there is zero motion transfer, so you’ll not disturb your partner even if you twist and turn a lot during sleep.
Purchase & Delivery Process
You can only buy the mattress online from the website. The UI is extremely user-friendly, with helpful measurement guides and clear pricing, allowing you to pick the mattress that’s right for you. Like all Saatva products, Solaire features free white-glove delivery, installation, and old mattress removal in the continental US. The 180-night free trial is enough to test the bed and make up your mind before committing to a purchase, although returns will incur a $99 fee.

Compared to similar products, it is fairly priced and given the fact that it’s a brand of Saatva Company, you can be sure that the build quality is excellent. Furthermore, the materials used are also of high quality and even 100% organic in some cases.
