Sleep Number is widely known for its SleepIQ technology. It is designed to adjust to each sleeper individually and deliver the most personalized sleeping experience possible. The system harnesses data like heart rate, sleep movements, and breathing during the night and automatically adjusts the firmness, comfort, and support on each side of the bed, individually. The software utilizes progressive learning, meaning that it is supposed to improve the sleeping experience with each succeeded night.
Advanced models also have built-in technologies to warm your feet and detect and try to relieve your partner’s snoring by slightly tilting the upper area of the bed on the respective side. All of these metrics can be tracked via the SleepIQ smartphone app, which will deliver some details concerning your last night’s sleep experience, and daily improvements.
In terms of layers and features, all three mattress series share a number of similarities among themselves while also offering advanced perks for specific cases. The basic set of features includes dual adjustability, Responsive Air technology, and SleepIQ technology. Enhanced pressure point relief, superior pressure-relief, and temperature balancing are available for the Performance and Innovation series.
In general, all SleepNumber beds come with single or dual air chambers that inflate or deflate based on your Sleep Number setting (determined during your sleep). The higher the number, the firmer the mattress is. Dual air chambers are designed for couples. Also, all mattresses come with at least one layer of comfort foam that sits above the air chambers, just below the cover. The thickness and height of comfort levels is determined by the series you purchase.
Here are the details for each feature mentioned above:
Dual Adjustability – The feature is used to calculate each sleeper’s Sleep number setting and automatically adjust the comfort level of the mattress during sleep. The Sleep number corresponds to your ideal firmness and support, with the most popular ones ranging from 35-45, on a scale of 1-100.
Responsive Air Technology – Based on the data gathered by the SleepIQ technology, the mattress automatically adjusts to deliver the optimal amount of comfort, firmness and support to each partner on an individual level.
SleepIQ Technology – As described above, this feature is used to gather the sleepers’ data and track how you’re sleeping.
Enhanced Pressure Point Relief – Available in the Performance series, this feature provides a number of additional, exclusive pressure point comfort layers.
Superior Pressure-Relief – Available only in the Innovation series, this feature represents the most luxurious pressure-relieving comfort layers offered by the brand.
Temperature Balancing – Available only in the Innovation series, this feature detects and absorbs excess heat, and releases it to deliver just the right amount of coolness for your case.
Thank you!
Have had one for 18yrs and is the only way to go. I have California king and use it a set6ing of 65.
DOES THIS BED COME IN SPLIT KING?
DOES IT HOLD UP FOR BIG PEOPLE?
Hi Janet, There is the option for split mattresses when you choose an adjustable base only. In terms of sizing, the Cal King is the biggest sized bed on offer.
Thanks, Top5
