There are several differences between each of the four models of Purple mattresses, although all feature the famous purple gird that they are known for. The patented Purplet Grid layer has undergone many tweaks during the past thirty years to create and perfect the first, no-pressure mattress for all types of sleepers. The layer is scientifically engineered to flex under pressure points like shoulders and hips and reduce pain to none. At the same time, the layer gently supports the rest of the body. Furthermore, the unique design allows to promote airflow and keep the heat away from the bed throughout the whole night. Finally, Purple Grid reduces motion transfer to zero, making Purple an excellent choice for couples.
Purple Plus Mattress
The Purple Plus features 2 inches of Purple Grid with over 1,400 open air channels atop a dual layer of premium comfort foam. This is their most budget-friendly model, yet is still supportive and comfortable.
Purple Hybrid Mattress
The Purple Hybrid also includes the classic 2 inches of No Pressure Purple Grid. As a hybrid, it also includes responsive support coils in the form of 7.5-inch pocket springs. High-density foam cushions between the layers. Because of the addition of coils in this mattress, it has better airflow than the Purple Plus mattress. There are foam borders for reinforced edge support.
Purple Premier 3 Mattress
The Purple Premier 3 comes with 3″ of the Purple Grid, more than the Plus or the Hybrid offer. You’ll also enjoy responsive support coils that are individually wrapped in noise-softening fabric (no annoying squeaks!) along with high-density polyurethane foam. This mattress model also includes reinforced edge support.
Purple Premier 4 Mattress
The only difference between the Purple Premier 4 and the Purple Premier 3 is that the Premier 4 has an extra inch of Purple Grid (4 inches total). The other layers remain the same.
