Overview
Loom & Leaf started off in 2015 as Saatva’s memory foam specific subsidiary. In the years since, the company has garnered a reputation for its dependable, luxurious and cost-friendly memory foam mattresses that offer reliable motion isolation and a comfortable surface that supports the spine to alleviate body pain.
Construction
The following layers make up a Loom & Leaf mattress:
The gel layer
The first layer is comprised of a 2-inch thick gel foam. It contains a cooling gel which ensures that the temperature of the mattress stays optimal at all times. The layer doesn’t respond actively to pressure and provides good spinal support.
Elastic memory foam layer
Beneath the gel layer is the layer consisting of top-quality memory foam. Like the layer above it, it’s slow to respond to pressure and helps in outlining the curves of the body. Working with the gel layer, it provides optimal pressure relief and support to the user.
The polyfoam layer
The penultimate layer consists of polyfoam, which is basically used to transition from the softer upper layers to the firmer, sturdier foundation of the mattress.
Foundation layer
The foundation layer is made up of 5.5 inches of high duty polyfoam. It is firm, gives the mattress shape, helps in increasing the mattress’s breathability and makes the user feel secure while lying on the mattress.
The numbers in the image below refer to the following layers:
1 – Quilted cotton covering
2 – Cooling spinal gel
3 – Premium 5-pound foam
4 – Dual layer breathable support
Mattress Cover
The Loom & Leaf cover is made up of a mixture of thistle (which is flame retardant) and cotton. It contains a thin lining of foam which feels soothing to the body. The cover is also adequately cool which makes you feel very comfortable.
Firmness, Feel & Support
Light pressure on the mattress is met by the soft touch of the quilted cover, and as soon as the pressure starts to build up, the memory foam starts to contour beautifully around the curves of the body. We would categorize the mattress as having a medium to soft firmness.
If you like sleeping on your stomach or on your back then, you might feel a slight sinking feeling when lying on the mattress. But if you sleep on your sides, then you should feel an adequate amount of support being provided by the mattress. However, switching between different positions is seamless, and there is not a significant amount sinking in any position for this deluxe mattress not to be considered.
The mattress can react differently to different users depending on sleeping positions when it comes to pressure relief. If you sleep on your back, you should feel really low pressure; however, if you sleep on your stomach then you might feel some pressure on the sides, and your hip might rise a bit while sleeping.
When it comes to motion disturbance/transfer, the Loom & Leaf mattress does tend to propagate movement if the intensity is high. Even though memory foam mattresses are known for motion containment, the cooling gel present above the comfort layer can deter this stability a bit.

The purchase process is painless; all you have to do is make a few selections, pay online, and you are done! All mattresses get delivered to your home for free and come with white glove delivery along with mattress removal.
