Overview
Eco Terra is a mattress brand that focuses on affordable luxury. Handcrafted in California, these mattresses are available in two different firmness levels and has organic certifications attesting to its dedication to using high-quality materials.
Construction
Eco Terra uses GOTS certified organic wool, organic cotton, and Talalay latex. Talalay latex is spun, molded, and baked in a unique way, allowing for more control over the finished product and creating a structure that is softer than traditional latex blends. It has an almost memory foam-like quality to it and provides a truly luxurious and cushioned feel.
If you like the molded feel of memory foam but dislike the way it contours to your body, Talalay latex could be just what you’re looking for. They also use GOTS certified organic cotton for breathability and comfort and individually-wrapped, pocketed coils. The result is a supportive sleeping surface with minimal motion transfer.
These same high-quality materials are used across all Eco Terra mattresses, with some slight variations between the Medium and Medium-Firm varieties. They provide a comfortable-yet-stable sleep while also offering high-level temperature control and breathability.
Eco Terra mattresses are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified and use GOTS certified organic cotton and wool. The brand is happy to share that they utilize natural latex in the construction of their mattresses.
Mattress Cover
The Eco Terra mattress uses a GOTS certified organic stretch cotton cover, which provides the same softness but with additional support and breathability. It feels luxurious and soft and adds a deluxe finishing touch to this well-made mattress.
Firmness, Feel & Support
Eco Terra is built on a foundation of heat-treated and stress-tested steel coils. These are encased in a light and breathable fabric and provide complete support for your body, with a Medium to Medium-Firm softness (between 5 and 7 on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the firmest) and a sinkage of between 1 and 2 inches.
This firmness is best suited for stomach sleepers but can also benefit back sleepers and even side sleeps. It’s a firmness level that most customers will be happy with, which is why many brands tend to stick within this range.
There is very little motion transfer, which is ideal if you have a particularly fidgety partner, and it feels very stable and comfortable as soon as you lie down. If you’re used to a firmer or softer mattress then it may take some getting used to, but after a few nights, you’ll settle right in.
It’s also quite a hefty and chunky mattress, which makes for a nice change from the many slimline beds-in-a-box currently on the market. The largest Eco Terra weighs 126 pounds and has dimensions of 72 x 84 x 11″.
Purchase & Delivery Process
Buying an Eco Terra mattress is easy: simply make your section from their website. Financing is available as well. Choose Klarna at checkout if you’d like to finance your Eco Terra mattress instead of paying for it all at once.
Delivery is free across the contiguous United States and you’ll typically have your bed within just 7 days. Eco Terra offers white glove delivery and can also take your old mattress away and dispose of it, but this service costs an additional $199—a little on the steep side, but invaluable if you need it.
The returns option is offered free of charge. Keep in mind that the white glove delivery and mattress removal service fee is non-refundable.
Each Eco Terra mattress comes with a 90 day home trial period. You can return the mattress for a full refund at any time within the 90-day period. If there are any manufacturer defects beyond that period, you can also return it for a fix or replacement.

Final Word
The Eco Terra mattress will tick a lot of boxes for a great number of consumers. It’s a product that is very middle-of-the-road when it comes to firmness, and the brand has also tried to match its competitors with an extended warranty and 90-day sleep trial. However, the actual product is anything but generic and exudes a level of quality that you might not expect for less than $1,000.
In an increasingly eco-conscious world, a mattress that’s made with certified organic cotton and wool definitely stands out from the crowd.
