Cocoon Mattress Review

Today we’re covering one of the most trusted mattress brands out there: Sealy.  The brand has been around since pretty much the beginning of time (1881), and now after nearly 130 years, they’ve added the Cocoon line to their collection. And as someone who struggles to stay cool at night, this mattress really spoke to me, and I’m going to tell you why that is, exactly in this review.

While firmness can be rather subjective, the Cocooon Chili is available in a medium firmness, with a ranking of a 6 on a scale of 1-10.   Since it’s both not too firm and not too soft, it can be a great option for sleepers of all kinds of positions. As someone that tosses and turns all night long it was super comfortable, but I would say it’s probably more of a 7/10 in terms of firmness.  Personally I liked this but if you’re looking for a softer mattress or are on the heavier side this might not be ideal for you.

Other than the affordable prices, the cooling properties of the Cocoon mattresses are its biggest selling point.  The mattress cover is infused with Sealy’s own ‘Phase Change Material’ which is specially designed for hot sleepers such as myself – and is capable of absorbing and dispersing body heat.  You might even feel a little cold with it which is important to take note of, with a 1/10 on the cooling scale.

Memory foam, combined with coils is known to be great for pressure relief, and the Cocoon mattress managed to live up to its expectation while trying it out thanks to these premium materials.

The Hybrid mattress is more responsive than the Memory foam mattress – however this is to be expected with a memory foam mattress. Changing positions isn’t quite as comfortable as it is on the Hybrid version, that’s made with a special responsive coil technology with targeted support.

When it comes to motion transfer, the Cocoon Chili memory foam also does a good job, and is ideal for those that sleep with partners – and especially light sleepers bothered by noise and movement. This is pretty standard for a memory foam mattress to offer, but it’s still always appreciated!

Sealy has a reputation of having fantastic customer support, with phone support, live chat and email support. There’s also FAQ available on their website as well as videos online for additional help. I didn’t, however, try it out myself other than having a look over what they offer.

With two different mattresses to choose from and superior cooling technology, Cocoon by Sealy makes for a great mattress option – offering quality at a price that won’t completely break the bank, as is actually lower than most of their competitors too.  Their 100 night sleep trial also makes it worth at least trying!
