Puffy utilizes a patented multi-layer design formulated and imbued with DeepSleep technology. While the price difference between Puffy and Puffy Lux is fairly large, the differences in construction and materials aren’t too significant. The Puffy has three layers and the Puffy Lux has four layers, including a Cloud Foam layer for extra comfort, adaptive support, and body contouring.
Cooling Cloud Foam Layer
The top layer of the mattress is responsible for body contouring and pressure point relief, as well as spinal alignment. It’s also highly breathable, allowing it to keep body temperature at an optimal degree and preventing uneasiness during sleep.
Body Adapting Dual Cloud Foam Layer (Exclusive to Puffy Lux)
This layer, which is exclusive to Lux, features all the benefits of the single Cloud Comfort Layer, but with an extra two inches of memory foam, the support and contouring effects are technically doubled. Working together with the Cooling Cloud Layer, the Comfort Layer further enhances pressure point relief.
ClimateComfort Foam
The ClimateComfort Layer protects both the mattress and sleepers from temperature fluctuations by heating up when it’s cold and cooling itself when it’s hot. This adaptive mechanism allows for much better sleep with fewer disturbances, and also counters seasonal contraction and expansion, improving the longevity of the mattress.
Firm Core Support Layer
The six-inch core support layer makes for a firm foundation that enhances spinal alignment and improves pressure point relief. In addition to providing firm support, this layer adapts to the sleeper’s body shape as well, improving the blood circulation and thus allowing for less-disruptive tossing and turning during sleep.
