The first factor I checked out on the DreamCloud mattress was the firmness of it, which is honestly most important for comfort.  It wasn’t too hard, making it not taxing on my shoulders as a side sleeper, but it also wasn’t overly soft so I didn’t feel like I was going to sink right in. So with all things being said, I would say that the DreamCloud mattress is a 6.5/10 on firmness.

Another awesome feature of this DreamCloud mattress is its cooling memory foam and innerspring coils. They work together in tandem in order to help disperse heat and keep you cool all night long. As a rather hot sleeper, this was really beneficial. It’s important to note that 1 is the coolest on our scale.

One of the layers of this mattress is a ‘pressure-relief comfort layer’ made from high-density gel infused foam.  This is intended to provide not only a nice feeling of ‘coolness’ to the body, but also offers solid support while contouring my body.

I was able to move around comfortably and easily, feeling as though the mattress was responsive to my body. The foam in the mattress together with the coil structure make for a rather bouncy surface that’s ideal for those that don’t sleep still throughout the night similar to myself.

As for motion transfer, I took a pretty full glass of water, placed it on one side of the bed and went to sit on the other side of the bed to check out what would happen. When I bounced around, the water was slightly impacted, but it still didn’t seem as though it was going to completely flip over anytime soon. One of the unique features about this DreamCloud mattress is that it actually has individually wrapped springs to help minimize motion transfer, which surely contributed, although it wasn’t fully stable. I’ll give it a 5/10 on the motion isolation rank. 

The classic edge support test includes sitting on the edge of the bed and see how I feel – will I fall off? I was in fact able to scoot pretty much down to the very end of the mattress without feeling like I was going to fall off whatsoever, so I’ll give it a full 10/10 as for edge support.

Both the original DreamCloud mattress and the Premier mattress feature hand-tufted cashmere and polyester blend covers. The cashmere wool provides all the benefits of sheep wool yet is a lot softer, lighter, stronger and about three times more insulating than traditional wool.
