Overview
Amerisleep has two objectives: modernize the mattress-buying process and do so in a healthy, eco-friendly manner. Their US-manufactured mattresses come in five varieties to cover everyone’s sleep preferences, from soft to firm. With their extra responsive Affinity and Active Flex foams, they guarantee that you won’t ever feel “stuck,” even in their softest mattress.
Construction
Amerisleep’s foam mattresses are made with VPF manufacturing foam in the only Clean Air Act-approved manufacturing process, allowing them to reduce the amount of petroleum in their foams. Their foams are also plant-based and Certi-PUR-US certified to ensure healthier sleep for their customers.
Their five mattresses each feature a different composition of some or all of the following materials:
Bio-Pur layer – the open-cell structure foam keeps you cool as you sleep and is five times more breathable than traditional memory foam. Featured in all five models.
Active Flex layer – found only in the AS5 soft mattress, this comfort foam is super responsive so you feel cushioned and contoured without feeling like you’re trapped in bed.
Affinity layer – with surface modification technology (SMT) is a transition foam with zones pressure relief targeting the shoulders and lower back. It also features precision-cut channels that distribute heat for enhances cooling. Featured in AS2, AS3, AS4, and AS5.
Bio-Core layer – this foam support layer is designed to withstand decades of use and prevent sagging. Like the Bio-Pur layer, it’s plant-based. Featured in all five models.
Mattress Cover
One of Amerisleep’s most advanced features is the Celliant mattress cover. Celliant is an FDA-determined technology that used 13 thermo-reactive elements to convert body heat into infrared energy, which is reabsorbed by your muscles and tissues to boost blood flow and circulation. As a result, you get better more refreshing sleep.
However, the mattress cover is not removable or machine washable.
Firmness, Feel & Support
Amerisleep has a mattress for truly everyone. Their five models fall into two categories: the firm collection and the soft collection. The firm collection, which features model AS1 and AS2, is more supportive and is recommended for back and stomach sleepers. You are more likely to feel like you are sleeping on these mattresses, not in them.
The soft collection, which features AS3, AS4, and AS5, is best for side and combination sleepers as they are more cushiony and offer more responsive body contouring. The softer the mattress, the deeper you will sink into it.
All Amerisleep mattresses provide adequate motion isolation as well.
Purchase & Delivery Process
Five models are a lot to choose from, so if you are unsure which to pick, you can consult the Memory Foam Buying Guide on their website. Once you’ve selected your model, order online and get free FedEx shipping. Amerisleep mattresses are manufactured in and shipped from Indiana and take s 4-10 business days to arrive at your home from the time you order. You can track the development of your order online.
Once you have the mattress, you have a 100 night trial period to decide if it’s for you. In the case of returns, Amerisleep offers a money-back guarantee and will arrange a free pick up. All returned mattresses are either recycled or donated to a local charity.
Adjustable Beds
The AmeriSleep adjustable bed makes falling asleep easier, since you can adjust your bed to how you feel most comfortable. With the capacitive-touch remote, you’ll be able to lift the head angle of the bed to 58° and the foot of the bed to 44°. The remote is easy to use, with up and down buttons for the head, foot, and even pillow tilt (to support your head when reading or watching TV in bed). It also includes an anti-snore setting.
The remote comes with a convenient table-top holder, but you can also control your adjustable base via Apple and Android apps. A gentle-wake alarm, sleep timer, and dual, full-body wave massage can be accessed from the app as well.
The AmeriSleep adjustable bed has a Wallhugger design, and a MicroHook retention system keeps your mattress from slipping off the base as you adjust it up and down. Under-bed lighting will light your way if you get up in the night without the need for you to turn on room lights. USB ports allow you to charge up to 8 USB devices at once from your bed.
The frame height is 14 to 18″ from the floor, and the base can support up to 700 pounds total. Assembling the base doesn’t require any tools. You’ll want to place the bed near an outlet so you can plug it in. It comes with a generous 20-year warranty, which is much more than other brands offer for adjustable bases, but there is no sleep trial. Delivery is free and takes about 2-3 weeks. You can choose white glove delivery with setup for an addition $399.

Final Word
For the amount of cutting edge technology Amerisleep uses in the manufacturing of their mattresses, the products themselves remain simple and approachable. By offering five different models, each with a different comfort level from soft to firm, they cater to everybody, which is more than many other mattress companies can say. However, due to the technology used in the manufacturing process, the all-foam mattresses run more expensive than similar mattresses on the market. You should stick to the firm collection if you don’t want to risk luxury-level spending. Customers who should buy this mattress are people that are environmental- and health-conscious.
