The foam mattresses’ prices increase with their firmness (AS1 is the firmest and AS5 is the softest)

Construction

Amerisleep’s foam and hybrid beds use VPF-manufactured foam, from the only Clean Air Act-approved manufacturing process, allowing them to reduce the amount of petroleum in their foams and create beds with. Their foams are also plant-based and Certi-PUR-US certified, testifying that sleepers are safe from harmful toxins.

Their five foam mattresses each feature a different composition of some or all of the following materials:

  1. Bio-pur layer – the foam’s open-cell structure keeps sleepers cool by encouraging airflow and is five times more breathable than traditional memory foam. The bio-pur layer is featured in all five foam models plus the three hybrid ones.
  2. Active Flex layer – found only in the AS5 soft mattress, this comfort foam is super responsive, making sleepers feel cushioned and contoured without feeling like you’re trapped in the mattress.
  3. Affinity layer – this transition layer boasts surface modification technology (SMT) with pressure-relief zones that target your shoulders and lower back. It also features precision-cut channels that encourage air circulation, keeping you cool during sleep. The affinity layer is featured in AS2, AS3, AS4, and AS5.
  4. Bio-core layer – this high-density foam support layer is designed to withstand decades of use and prevent sagging. Like the Bio-Pur layer, it’s plant-based, and the layer is featured in all five foam models.

The hybrid models – AS2H, AS3H, and AS5H share constructions similar to their all-foam counterparts, with two key differences:

  • Instead of the high-density bio-core layer, the hybrid models’ foundation is made of dense pocketed coils.
  • The hybrid models’ construction doesn’t include the affinity layer.

The hybrid models are typically bouncier and offer more mobility than their all-foam counterparts. These models are also softer, sleep cooler, and come at a higher price.

Amerisleep’s natural mattress, the Organica, has GOTS® and OEKO-TEX® certifications. The eco-friendly mattress designed using all-natural Talalay latex, which is up to 7 times more breathable than traditional foam, organic wool, and an 8-inch coil unit with edge support.

The bed’s natural fire barriers, made from wool and tufting, make it suitable for people with allergies.

Mattress Cover

Amerisleep’s foam and hybrid beds come with the brand’s “Refresh Cooling Cover”, designed from Celliant technology. Celliant technology converts body heat into infrared energy using 13 special thermoreactive elements.

The energy is reabsorbed by your muscles and tissues to boost blood flow and circulation. As a result, you get better more refreshing sleep, and the mattress covers keep you cool during sleep.

The Organica mattress comes with a soft, breathable organic cotton cover made from GOTS-certified cotton.

Amerisleep’s covers are not removable or machine washable, so you’ll need to spot clean them.

Firmness, Feel & Support

Amerisleep has a mattress truly for every sleep. Their five foam models fall into two categories: the firm collection and the soft collection. The firm collection, which features model AS1 and AS2, is more supportive and is recommended for back and stomach sleepers. You are more likely to feel like you are sleeping on these mattresses, not in them.

The soft collection, which features AS3, AS4, and AS5, is best for side and combination sleepers as they are more cushiony and offer more responsive body contouring. The softer the mattress, the deeper you’ll sink into it.

The hybrid models have similar firmness levels to their foam counterparts, although the hybrid beds are slightly softer. For example, the AS5 is the softest foam bed, and the AS5h is slightly softer. The latex Organica mattress is quite firm – on the firmness scale, we’d give it a seven (i.e. medium-firm, but on the firmer side).

Amerisleep’s foam mattresses provide the best motion isolation, although the hybrid and latex ones do a decent job at minimizing motion transfer, too. The hybrid and latex options also sleep cooler than their all-foam counterparts.

Purchase & Delivery Process

After choosing the model you want, order your mattress online and get free FedEx shipping all over the U.S. (including Alaska and Hawaii). Amerisleep mattresses are manufactured in and shipped from Indiana and take 10 business days to arrive at your doorstep, from the time you order. You can track your order’s status online.

Amerisleep offers a 100-night risk-free trial to decide if the mattress is right for you, but they require you to spend at least thirty days sleeping on it before requesting a return. If you opt for a return, Amerisleep offers a money-back guarantee and will arrange for a free pick up. All returned mattresses are either recycled or donated to a local charity.

The mattress brand doesn’t offer white glove delivery for mattress deliveries alone; but if you buy an adjustable bed, too, they’ll provide these services in select areas.

Adjustable Beds

Amerisleep offers two adjustable beds: The Adjustable Bed and Adjustable Bed+. The standard base comes with essential features like head and foot movement, programmable positions, an anti-snore setting, zero-gravity, and a back-lit remote.

The Bed+ includes the same features with additional luxury options like USB charging, adjustable legs, mobile app control, full body rolling massage, and MicroHook™ retention system that keeps your mattress in place.

Both bases are comfortable and durable, but the standard option is more cost-effective, while the Bed+ is a more expensive, luxurious option.

Amerisleep offers free shipping for both bases, although the Bed+ also comes with free setup within the continental U.S. Amerisleep offers a 10-year warranty for both bases, but it’s only a ‘full’ warranty for the first two years of the standard base, and first year of the Bed+ base. The remaining years are a prorated warranty.

Pillow Offerings

Amerisleep offers three types of pillows; the Comfort Classic, Flex, and Dual Comfort. The pillows use the same Bio-Pur® memory foam found in the brand’s popular mattress, helping you stay cool and refreshed.

The Flex is designed to be responsive, making it a great choice for combo sleepers who switch positions during sleep. The Dual Comfort and Flex pillows both include special cooling technology, making them ideal for hot sleepers.

All three pillows are CertiPUR-US certified, easy to clean, and come with a 10-year warranty. They’re also designed to alleviate neck pain.

Mattress Toppers

The Amerisleep Lift mattress topper is available in different sizes, and you can choose from “Support” or “Comfort” options, both of which feature a breathable cover and use Amerisleep’s patented HIVE technology. This patented technology is designed to relieve pressure and help you sleep better.

Amerisleep recommends the “Comfort” topper for side and combo sleepers, and for people who want their mattress to have more of a ‘cushiony’ feel. The Support topper is better suited for back and front sleepers, and people who want to enhance their bed’s firmness.

The mattress topper helps you sleep cooler and more comfortably, and its designed to enhance pressure relief. Amerisleep even features a micro grip base, providing enough friction to ensure it remains on your mattress and doesn’t slip and slide throughout the night. The topper comes with free shipping in the U.S. and a 5-year warranty.

The topper’s price varies from $199-$349, depending on the size.

Final Word

Amerisleep is a leading sleep company that’s won multiple awards for its sleep products, including mattresses and adjustable beds. The brand uses cutting-edge technology to deliver the best sleep experiences – they’ve even successfully created memory foam that sleepers much cooler than traditional foam.

Amerisleep isn’t afraid to expand its offering, either. The sleep brand offers five foam models, three hybrid ones, and an all-natural latex and spring option to meet the needs of every sleeper. Their mattresses have different constructions, firmness levels, and cooling properties.

However, all these qualities don’t come cheap – which is why Amerisleep’s mattresses are on the more expensive side. Their firmer options – the AS1&AS2 – are more affordable, though, making them a good choice for budget-conscious buyers.

Overall, Amerisleep is an innovative sleep brand that puts the needs of sleepers’ first.
